How EIN Matching Occurs: The Batch Match end user will “map” or identify matching fields against the EIN Master File, i.e. company field matched to company, address matched to address etc. The SQL server will look for matching company names with certain geographic areas first such as zip code or county, and then will match on address or former address. The match rate is ultimately a result of several factors:

1) Size, breadth and scope of the EIN Master File:Our file is among the most robust EIN data repositories in the nation with millions of records.

2) Quality and integrity of the input data: Our proprietary matching algorithm and Soundex™ feature results in highest match rates. Our data includes old addresses as well as new addresses provided by the United States Postal Service.

3) End user mapping sequence: correct mapping is essential. Uniform and clean input data is essential for sound matching.

EIN Batch-Match Turnaround Time: Turnaround time can be in minutes for automated smaller files up to days for larger more complex files. The process is automated for most clean input batch files of under 10,000 records. Larger files requiring technical intervention for optimal matching can require more technical time.

EIN Match Rate: Match rate is a factor of input quality and types of companies sought. If we are matching against a clean file of mid to large established companies then the match rate will be fairly high. If the input file consists of data with poor input quality, low consistency, improper spellings, false states, false zip codes, or many small private companies that are largely un-established then the match rate could be lower.

Data File Input Types: Input files should be of the standard variety of data formats processed today including: ASCII Tab Delimited; CSV; Excel; Comma Delimited; and SQL.
