LIBERTY DATA OPT-OUT AND DATA SUPPRESSION POLICY
At any time, individuals may request to opt-out of having personal information about themselves made available through our products and services, in accordance with legal requirements
Liberty Data permits individuals to have certain personal information about themselves suppressed from Liberty Data’s records and products that are available to the general public over the Internet if the following conditions are met:
- Public and elected officials, including law enforcement officers, and private individuals who are facing a substantial risk of physical harm or who are victims of identity theft may request to have personal information about themselves suppressed
- A private individual facing substantial risk of physical harm or who are victims of identity theft
Products containing personal information are available to commercial and government entities that completed Liberty Data’s security and due diligence compliance requirements and are used to detect and prevent fraud, enforce transactions, perform due diligence, and other critical business and government functions.
Liberty Data does not suppress personal information from databases used by law enforcement customers.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO LIBERTY DATA PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. LIBERTY DATA CANNOT APPLY SUPPRESSIONS TO ANY OTHER INFORMATION SOURCES AND CANNOT PREVENT OTHER COMPANIES OR AGENCIES FROM OBTAINING OR DISSEMINATING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
Additionally, Liberty Data regularly receives updated information from public sources and agencies. Thus, in the event your personal information is still available through public records, Liberty Data cannot guarantee that it will not re-emerge in our products and services.
If your personal information is available via public record, Liberty Data recommends you check back periodically to ensure it remains suppressed.
Documentation Required for Suppression Requests
Liberty Data reserves the rights, in its sole discretion, to determine what documentation is required to substantiate your opt-out/suppression requests. These documents must be able to demonstrate the need for suppression as well as verify the identity of the individual making the request. In order to help guide you in your request, Liberty Data has provided the following examples of acceptable documentation but reserves the right, if reasonably necessary, to request additional documentation:
- Information necessary to verify your personal identity
- If you are a victim of identity theft, submit a copy of a police report documenting the identity theft or documentation that verifies the identity theft claim such as a letter from your credit card company, and an Identity Theft Affidavit; or
- If you are a law enforcement officer or public official, submit a letter from your supervisor stating that your position exposes you to a threat of death or serious bodily harm; or
If you are at risk of physical harm but do not work in law enforcement, submit a copy of a court protective order, a copy of a police report or similar documentation such as a letter from a shelter administrator or a health care professional
If your suppression request is not approved, we will promptly inform you about that determination. In the event your request is not approved, you will have the right to provide additional documentation to further demonstrate the need for suppression.
LIBERTY DATA RESERVES THE RIGHT, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, TO GRANT OR DENY A REQUEST. THE ACT OF REQUESTING THE SUPPRESSION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR REQUEST WILL BE GRANTED

Information Suppression requests will be processed within a reasonable time or as required by law.
